Title: “The Transience of Life”
By Vijay Sharma Erry
Life is like shifting sunlight and shade, changing every passing moment,
The flower that blooms today, tomorrow fades in silent lament.
This colorful world of dreams is like a wall made of sand,
One gust of wind arrives—and nothing remains as planned.
The web of love, attachment, and bonds feels tender and dear,
Yet before time, every relationship trembles in fear.
Behind every smile, a deep silence quietly lies,
In this crowded world, every heart hides its own cries.
Those who were with us yesterday are lost somewhere today,
They remain in windows of memories, as tears that never fade away.
This fair of the world is an illusion; nothing here will remain,
We came empty-handed—and will leave the same again.
Never had we imagined such a day would come,
When every color of joy fades, and sorrow becomes the sum.
When death softly approaches, everything falls still,
Every grain of ego dissolves against its will.
In this fleeting life, why nurture so much pride?
What cannot stay forever—why keep it by your side?
Every breath is borrowed, every moment a sign,
Flowing with time’s current—that is life’s true line.
Yet humans forget their own truth so easily,
Formed from dust, to dust they return inevitably.
Whoever has come to this earth will surely depart one day,
Only the shadow of deeds will with them stay.
Final Lines (Your Thought in English):
The soul may endure, but the body must one day die; the soul cannot bear the pain of death.
One who truly knows the soul as immortal—neither dies, nor causes death to anyone.
